Overview
Reform Pilates Instructor and Physical Therapist, Tara Fallon, is presenting a Core Conditioning Workshop on the evening of Monday 25th June at Reform Pilates (founded by ex-elite triathlete, Anna Frankland) in Blackrock.
While high quality workouts on the bike/road/pool are an important part of training, by themselves they are not enough to maximize your leg and arm strength as well as your endurance and sprinting ability. To truly develop the major muscle groups to their full potential, you should augment your cycling /running/swimming workout with Pilates & core conditioning. This allows you work on stability of the trunk muscles. They in turn hold the bones in the right place to allow your muscles to contract as efficiently as possible, beyond what is possible by working out on the bike/road/pool alone.
This extra work will go a long way to developing that crucial leg and arm strength (by simply placing the pelvis/scapular in the correct position) and the quickness needed to propel you to the front of the pack. Suitable for both novice & advanced triathletes, plus solo runners, cyclist & swimmers, this practical two hour workshop will take you through the most effective exercises to develop true core strength. Performed regularly, these exercises will make a significant improvement to your performance in the short term as well as reduce incidence of injury.
This two hour workshop will start at 7.30pm and the cost is €35 (discounted rate of €30 for Piranha members). Please book soon by emailing anna@reformpilates.ie“>anna@reformpilates.ie as places are limited.
