Club NS Race Calendar – Feb 16th

Individual Race Schedule

Individual NS Race Schedule

  • we can provide support to all members for the National Series competition, manage the talent in the club to maximise the Club’s performance and forecast the number of members that will complete the regulation 5 NS races;
  • liaise with Race Directors for the ‘Club Races’ to ensure that enough places are secured for Piranha members and
  • forecast demand for accommodation for the two ‘Away Weekends’.

Please click on the link to the spreadsheet above.

Please enter you name in Column A as it appears on your TI membership card.

Please select “Yes’ or ‘Poss’ for those races that you will (or possibly will) compete in.

That’s all you need to do! Simply close the window when you have updated your race schedule. Note, you are not obligated to compete in each of these races – it is simply to give us an idea of who is planning to do what.

Duathlon Race Entry (no change from 9th Feb)

All of the National Duathlon Series races are open for registration. Key races for Piranha members (all three required to score in the National Duathlon Series) are:

1st March: Fingal Duathlon Series – Race 2 – Balbriggan

23rd March: Butchers Block – Race 3 – Naas

5th April: National Championships – Balbriggan

Distances and links to entry for each race can be found on the “Club NS Race Calendar” link above.

Triathlon Race Entry (several updates from Feb 9th)

Our 7 ‘Club Races’ can be found in orange on the “Club NS Race Calendar” link above. The 3 dark orange races represent special events – Club Championship{jcomments on}s or Away Weekends.

6 races on the calendar are open for entry:

  • Lough Cutra
  • TriAthy (Club Race)
  • Two Provinces (Club Race)
  • Blackwater
  • Half Ireman and
  • Belfast Titanic.

We have entry opening dates for 9 races in the following order:

28th February: Caroline Kearney – 8.00pm – Club Race – limited spaces

1st March: By Hook or by Crook (Club Championship)

3rd March: Mullaghmore

5th March: morning – 50% Entries for each of King of the Hill Kinsale (Club away weekend) and The Lost Sheep

1st April: Crooked Lake (National Championships), Blacksod (Club away weekend) and DCT (No Piranhas!)

2nd April: evening 50% entires for each of King of the Hill Kinsale (Club away weekend) and The Lost Sheet

21st April: Tri the Lough

Indications of other entry opening dates are provided as best available on the Club Calendar. We are in touch with the different Race Organisers and will post as soon as we have more info.

Club Races and Away Weekends

Please note that entry to club races must be completed individually through the nominated entry system. If members complete the Indivudual Race Schedule above, we will be able to liaise with Race Directors about block reservations for Piranha’s. (Individuals will still register individually – but there may be an element of places being held for us).

The Club will pre-book accommodation for each of King of the Hill / Blacksod away weekends centrally. This reinforces the importance of completing the indivudual race calendar sheet so that we have a view on numbers.

NS Recruitment Plans – Sunday 23rd February after the Dig Deep cycle training

Matt Coughlan, our undefeated Club Champion for several years, will give an informal talk on the tips and tricks of National Series races after the Dig Deep hill training day on Sunday 23rd Feb. Bernard will also review the race calendar and answer any questions about the Club Races. If you cannot make the Dig Deep training session you should aim to be at the Yellow House at about 12.30pm.

Any questions, please either post-up or contact me via PM on the site, email (ber.hanratty@gmail.com) or by phone (087 231 5076).

Regards

Bernard Hanratty
NS Coordinator.
