DCT: Calling all Piranha members!

To All Piranha’s,
 
With just over 8 weeks to go for Dublin City Triathlon ( DCT) I just wanted to send a reminder to put it in your calender. Your services are required on Saturday 27th and Sunday28th. All piranha members are required to help run this event as it generates the income that runs our club and without it there would not be any coaches or swim lanes etc etc. Many of you know the drill but for any new members the race needs approx 100 stewards and helpers.

On saturday we set up the course and transition. Place the barries on the course and arrange the branding. The swim bouys are anchored in the liffey. Hay bails are placed on the bike course, Goodie bags need to be filled and registration needs to be set up for all the athletes who will sign on for the race on saturday afternoon, the list is very long and all hands are needed. The more we have the easier and quicker it is. On race day you will be required to marshell the course just like you have seen many others at different races. For any new to the sport, you need not worry as you will be placed with someone who is experienced.
 
The race management is broken down into different areas and you will be placed on different teams but we need everyones attendence for this to run smoothly. So put it in your iphone, your blackberry, your wallet, your handbag, your palmtop, laptop and notebook. Tell your wife, your lover, your husband, your girlfriend, your kids, the dog, your coach and your employer………..YOUR BUSY ON 27TH / 28TH AUGUST. We will be in touch over the coming weeks to let you know which team you are on. If for some reason you have not recieved an email for one of the committee by 14th August

A lot of work has already gone into organising the event and we will have some new and exciting additions to the race this year which will be announced closer to the start. Entries are coming in steady but encourage anyone you know not in Piranha to enter as it will be worth it.
 
DCT is still one of the best races in the country ……….lets make sure it stays that way !
