Bike Training – Let’s get out there

The long slow building phase up to a great 2013 is set to begin.  Many of you have taken extended breaks from a successful 2012 and we also have a number of new members who are ‘chomping at the bit’ and wondering what it takes to get involved in triathlon.  There will be some exciting changes to our training plans and some old favourites coming your way in the next few weeks and months.

Coach Elena is working hard to time-table dates for TTs across each of the three disciplines which we will be in a position to announce shortly.  These are a fantastic opportunity not only to lay down a marker with your own clubmates but also a great way to introduce yourself to some friendly competitive action for many of our newer members.

This is the time of year when we need to get the miles into our biking legs.  We are calling on everyone to dust off their trusted Specializeds, Felts, Argons, Giants, Cervelos, Pinarellos or whatever is set to become your best friend and worst enemy.  We will be breaking the groups into three based on ability with specific Sunday bike plans in place for the differing abilities.  There will be no excuse, everyone will find a suitable level which will set you up to take you into action for 2013.

We expect to be able to announce a mid-week Turbo session with a limited number of spaces but more on that to follow.

In the mean time lets get out there. “It’s not the will to win that matters, everyone has that.  It’s the will to prepare to win that counts” (Paul Bryant).
