Piranha TC will run a transition training morning for members, of all abilities – although some might see it as a tough brick session disguised as transition training! This is a session that all members from the New to Tri Group through to our Cat 1 athletes will benefit massively from attending. Refine your transition skills ahead of race season and learn some new tricks from the transition master himself, John Wallnutt.
When: Saturday 30th April at 11.00am
Where: Papal Cross, Phoenix Park
What equipment to bring: Turbo Trainer, Bike, Wetsuit, Trisuit (or running gear), Helmet, Bike Shoes (runners are fine if using clips), runners/racing flats, full drinks bottles, nutrition you usually consume in a race i.e. gels etc, puncture repair kit (including CO2)…and everything else you would usually have with you in transition on race day.
If you are new to the club and don’t have all of the kit above, don’t worry about it, come along with what you have. If you don’t have a turbo trainer, post up in the comments below and I’m sure someone will help a clubmate out.
This is going to be an energetic transition training session with minimal standing around. The best way to learn is to do. The session will include 3-4 rounds of; 10min turbo and 5min run. Mounting/dismounting, T1 & T2 drills and pre race set-up will all be covered. If time permits, time will be spent on changing an inner tube, including how to use CO2 canisters.
Turbo’s will be set up on the grass between the Papal Cross & adjacent car park.
Another Piranha training day not to be missed!
