ParticipantThanks, Ellen. There’s a Belpark Aquathon on in Dun Laoghaire this Wednesday evening which may impact upon swimming at Seapoint as the entry/exit point is at the windsurfers’ pier. Might have a go at it myself. The Martello Tower end of Seapoint should be unaffected. Details on the Belpark website (ignore the celebrations of their victory over Piranha in the Face Off!). Run is up and down the West Pier.
40 Foot will be unaffected.
Cheers,
Phil.

ParticipantFantastic turnaround, guys. Hat’s off to Team COB for finding a solution so quickly.

ParticipantGood luck and safe travels. A fantastic day for Piranha TC having so many competitors involved. Looking forward to all the war stories after.

ParticipantHigh Tide 15:35 (3.60m)
Low Tide 21:09 (1.20m)Maybe 6.30pm or 7pm would be a better start time if everyone can make it? I’ll try and get along: but might aim to be a bit earlier than 7.30pm and do a quick half hour session.
Cheers,
Phil.

ParticipantWell done, Sean. That is some performance – congratulations. Now back to child rearing duties which, or course, are much more demanding 😉 . Look forward to hearing the details of the race.

ParticipantAlso, big thanks to Paul who was quietly officiating in the background – see photo of him looking menacing with his TO gear on. We are required as a club to provide TOs for certain races as part of our membership of TI. A few Piranhas have taken on this role and it is MUCH appreciated and often undervalued. So its a good opportunity to thank them all for being unsung heroes at races up and down the country during the season. If you’ve never thought of doing it, perhaps consider it for next year: not only do you become an expert on the TI Rules, you get a whistle and a set of red and yellow cards which can be used at family gatherings to great effect. We’ll be looking for volunteers at the beginning of next season.
Thanks all Piranha TOs – you do great work.

ParticipantWell done, good performances all round. May be time to drop the “New to Tri” moniker – or I’m going to have to start an Old to Tri section 😮
I had an email to say that as of yesterday there were still some slots available for the Sprint distance at Tri Athlone in a couple of weeks if anyone’s interested.
I have photos from Dunmore that I will link to or post up shortly.

ParticipantIn the words of the late, great blues guitarist John Lee Hooker: “Boom, boom, boom, boom”!
Well done – there’ll be some serious chicking in Dunmore by the sound of it

ParticipantRonan, I think I may have kept the alternative nose pieces that came with my Speedo goggles, I’ll check when I get in tonight. I am using the clip that works for gentlemen with, ahem, larger probosci 😯 but if you are looking for the other sizes I may have them. I could bring them to swimming on Thursday, if I have them, and you can see what works.
