Thanks for all the messages guys, I keep telling Steve Small Paul is not my birth given name but he is insistent on reminding me he is 1cm taller. Haha

Huge thanks to Myles who were the Piranha colours, I would have crossed the line with you if you had kept it on haha. But thanks for the support it was brill. Il be in Rita 66 tonight if you want to join us.

Got a little lost on the swim but 1:13 isn’t too bad il work on it. The Bike was Hell and there is no other way to describe it. 50km gusts. I regret renting the Tri Bike as it made climbing hills impossible. Should have brought my “Contador” bike haha. Lesson learnt.

I actually swore to myself I’d never do the course ever again. But 24 hours later I’m ready to sign up. Training needs to be better. And it will be.

The Run itself was fine I could have done the 3:30 I reckon if I had burned out on the bike. Never seen so many people walk the run course.

Will enjoy a drink tonight ahead of Athy.

I have sourced one from a member in the club for myself.

I’m also number 21 in the que on the waiting list and have not heard anything yet. But I’d imagine there will be a flurry of vacancies over the next week. If I get a space, I will purchase and then put one of your names on it.

So i’ll contact Hugh first and thereafter in that order of above.

There is only one option for me!

May, Lanzarote, and I’ll convinvce a crew to go with me so you might aswell roll in now 🙂

Will also probably do Barcelona as apparently its “easy”. Could you even call it an Ironman when it’s draft legal!

I’m in, don’t need accommodation as when I win this all the ladies will offer me their couch to sleep on.

    Thanks for volunteering guys.

Need more people to race. Maybe members who haven’t competed for sometime would be interested in participating also?

    Hi John

I agree completely. Maybe touch base with Anthony M and see if he can co-ordinate that RE: Training? We did post a good few times to the new members, so i’ll have to suss out why there wasn’t much interest.

    Cheers

    Hi Gavin,

I had terrible stomach problems on the run of IM Lanza, caused by the gels. I’d rather not use them in future, can your recommend something else.

Would you approach IM like this?

Only liquid for 2 hours of the bike, snack every 25 – 30 mins there after until completion of bike, 3-4 gels on the run? I’d rather avoid gels tho.

    Cheers

    Hi Anthony,

They are mine, can you hang onto them for me and I can get them off you Monday or Tuesday?

    Cheers
