ParticipantHi Phil,
I did Belfast too and I don’t have points for that race yet, despite the fact that it was about a month ago. So looks as if TI haven’t yet processed some of the more recent races. Your sprint points won’t show until they actually credit you for one or more of the Olympic races that you’ve done.

ParticipantTwo years ago it sold out sometime in November. I think it filled up even quicker last year.

ParticipantHi Sinead and anyone else planning to swim in Scotsman’s Bay over the next few weeks.
Scotsman’s Bay is perfectly fine to swim in but from a safety perspective just be aware that there can be some strong currents in the vicinity, depending on the tide. In the past I have swum from the Forty Foot/Sandycove beach over to Dun Laoghaire Pier, only to turn around at DL Pier and face into a very strong current on the return leg.
This shouldn’t affect the 70.3 swim course as you don’t have to return to Sandycove, but on a training swim I’d imagine you want to swim back to Sandycove. Therefore my suggestion would be to swim no more than half way across the bay and turn back (do it twice if you want!) rather than swimming all the way across to DL pier, before discovering the current and getting caught out on the way back when you are already tired.
Happy swimming!

ParticipantWell done Aileen – Absolutely flying!!! And no need to panic – you’ve still a month to go before Bolton, not two weeks like Will suggests!

ParticipantYes, there’s room for everyone. I’ve upped the booking to 24 people, so there is room for a few more bodies.

ParticipantThanks John. Yes, I’d be interested as I’ve yet to figure out the course. And Judy I can take you round sometime after that….not sure yet if I’ll want to bitch about the course/road surface ….we’ll see how we fare on the 20th!

ParticipantHi Antje,
I got sorted alright, but unfortunately there is no more room where I am staying. I think most Piranhas are staying in houses and apartments and there are probably a few people booked into the hotel. Accommodation in Kilkee can be hard to come by for this race as it is so popular. Good luck with your search.
