It should be noted that BELPARK are back running these and that the previous organiser is no longer involved. The races are also sanctioned by TI
johnwallnuttParticipantAs it stands it’s one victory each ( I was ahead by 11 seconds in the Duathlon ) but all just a bit of fun !!
But the real FUN will start when we start racing in TRIATHLONS……you might remember what they are or have you retired ??.johnwallnuttParticipantFair do’s for organising ………..shame we got such a shitty morning but as we live in Ireland whats new.
I would like to point out that even before the bad weather we only had 14 people signed up (7 from Piranha). It would seem that many people were put off by the fact it was a competition and that another club was involved and they would not like to let the club down etc etc.
THIS IS A FUN EVENT BUT ALSO A GREAT TRAINING EVENT…………I was surprized no newbies apart from Antje showed up. This is the perfect event for people who are new to triathlons to learn how to pace themselves in a timed event and thats what it is A TIMED EVENT NOT A RACE ! Yes the fastest person gets some bragging rights but its just a bit of fun !
I would ask the committee to cancel the swim for one morning to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the next TT. If we cannot do that move it to Sunday 19th and use it as our bike session, which is 20km so a perfect practice event for anyone looking at doing their first triathlon. Paul Mooney lets be having all the newbies out on the 18th. Casso ( the powerhouse) can give us some tips and then show us how its done ! how about the other 60 or so people who are swimming on a regular basis ………why not skip one swim and do this event. Most clubs around the country do this with their members on a regular basis at this time of year to prepare for the coming season
johnwallnuttParticipantKen
Ironman do not do transfer’s so if you cannot do the race you are best advised to look for a 50% refund before 1st April.
Dan,
As Paul suggested you can enter of a charity entry. We will also be releasing a very small number of entries to the Irish club who have registared to the CLUB TRI PROGRAM ( which Piranha are signed up to and you should also ) If you dont get an entry that way its wait till 2016johnwallnuttParticipantFor anyone interested we Will be releasing a small number of entries for IRONMAN 70.3 Dublin to clubs and members who are registered
johnwallnuttParticipantGreat spin today taking in 70km of the IM Dublin course.
Particular well done to the few intermediates who came with us. There were 13 fairly cold and wet bikers by the time we were finishedjohnwallnuttParticipantI have finally made it ………….Page 3 pinup LOL
johnwallnuttParticipantLet Jack we miss him in Westwood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO POST UP THE LIST OF PAID MEMBERS TO AVOID PROBLEMS FOR WESTWOOD AND COACHES ?
johnwallnuttParticipantStart line is easy …………….Finishline in Kilkee is a different matter ……….but no drinky poo’s if you dont get there !
25th January 2015 at 11:14 pm in reply to: Tri car boot sale **expression of interest request** #5654johnwallnuttParticipantGreat idea !!!!
I have some free stuff ! As well as other bitsjohnwallnuttParticipantI’m in also and so is Steve Eustace
That’s the easy bit now to find a nice hotel room ………johnwallnuttParticipantAs per my post …….from swords onwards , too there is grand but point taken re size of road
JW over and out
johnwallnuttParticipantCasso, I have to say that’s a terrible route full of busy roads and traffic lights from swords onwards or is that the intention ?
Would they not be better going towards Naul instead ???
