AnthonyMKeymasterGreat spin lads! My longest, hardest, most elevation ever. Lying down now!
AnthonyMKeymasterSee you all at 8:50 tomorrow! Looks like it’s going to be unseasonably warm 🙂
23rd January 2015 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Tri car boot sale **expression of interest request** #5614AnthonyMKeymasterI’ll be there. Have loads of odds and ends that might be useful!
AnthonyMKeymasterApologies for this going up late guys. I forgot to send it onto Moody for posting.
Make sure to take 3 recovery days this week and do plenty of stretching and foam rolling!
AnthonyMKeymasterHi Tomas,
UCD run session on Tuesday meets outside the sports center just before 19:00 (or just inside the door if it’s really cold/wet). There’s free parking at the back of the sports center if you come in the UCD sports center gate on Clonskeagh rd.
Enjoy,
A
AnthonyMKeymasterHi all,
Due to the freezing temperatures over night and the rain and snow forecast for this morning, the spin is cancelled. A turbo, MTB or even cyclocross ride would be a great replacement.
See Casso’s turbo above if you want to get a short session in.
Here’s another for anyone who wants something a little longer:

AnthonyMKeymasterHi Guys
Weather forecast is very bad for tonight so it unlikely tomorrow’s spin will go ahead. I will post up by 08:15am to confirm. If you don’t have a turbo, conditions might improve by 12:00 to get out for a few hours but only go out if you are sure it is safe to cycle.
All the best,
Anthony
AnthonyMKeymasterHi Darragh,
Yeah, I swapped over to a polar strap for three reasons.
1. I was starting to get some dropouts in signal which were down to the strap becoming dodgy over time
2. The Garmin strap kept coming loose as I was running/cycling which was a pain
3. My skin doesn’t agree so well with the Garmin straps so I was looking for an alternative
I use this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JWVEQLC/ref=twister_B00893LQNK
in the xs-s size which fits me perfectly. They’re a damn sight cheaper than the garmin ones and you can find them at a really low price if you shop around online.Cheers,
AAnthonyMKeymasterHi Guys,
I can see that the lanes are crowded these days and both Steven and Paul have highlighted the causes and problems we face in solving them.
One area I would like to highlight is that the Monday evening swim is open to improver and intermediate swimmers only. We implemented this measure to manage capacity. If there are advanced swimmers attending Monday evening sessions then they are contributing to the congestion. Therefore we would ask that advanced swimmers do not attend on Mondays.
Likewise, the Thursday morning session is for intermediate and advanced swimmers only.
The Sunday evening swim session was very poorly attended last year and it was dropped for this reason. Once the training committee have had a chance to meet and see where we have reached a critical mass we will decide whether we need extra lanes and when we will put them on.
Cheers,
Anthony
AnthonyMKeymasterMany thanks to the 13 People who signed up to volunteer with the club in some capacity. It is disappointing however that only 5% of our membership were willing and able to help out. If you still would like to volunteer for any of the roles we need filled please get in contact with the guys bellow:

AnthonyMKeymasterGuys,
We’ve had a very low response for volunteers. We are especially thin on the ground for assistant swim coaches and bike leaders. We want to make it as easy as possible to volunteer for the club so if you think you’d like to help out but are worried about time commitments just get in contact and we can work with you to find what suits.
Cheers,
A
