April’s Volunteer of the Month is a most deserving recipient.
He has been volunteering as an assistant swim coach with Piranha since last October, when the call went out there. Every Thursday morning, where average attendances never dipped below 40 and peaked at 61, he was always on deck to keep things orderly and moving. Those who regularly attend Thursday morning swims have always benefited from his expertise and, more importantly, his patience and generosity with his time. The average attendances climbing each Thursday are a testament to his commitment to the role he took on.
Fitting of his character, he’s not calling a time-out on Thursday mornings because he wants an extra lie on, instead he will be devoting his time to preparing Team Ireland as a coach for the upcoming Special Olympics Winter World Games.
It has been a real pleasure having Mark McInerney on deck for the past 7 months – and he is the Piranha Volunteer of Month for April!
Congratulations, Mark!
