Folks,
As we can all see swim lanes are starting to get very busy. Although this bodes well for the club it brings with it a number of drawbacks and in order to try and offset this as much as possible I think it is important that we all take a certain amount of personal responsibility to ensure that the lanes run in as efficient and safe a manner as possible
A) Can we get people to turn up as close to the start time of each session as possible so that we can get the maximum out of the short time we have in the pool
B) People should know where the fit in the lane in terms of ability. Those who are faster go toward the front of the lane and those not as fast closer to the back
C) Leave a gap between you and the person infront at the start of the set. 5 secs is the usual lane etiquette
D) There are days when even the legends can’t push the usual pace and need to take a break at the wall. If you do need to sit out a set please ensure that you pull to the side of the lane at the wall rather than causing an obstruction in the middle of the lane. The last thing anyone wants is an inadvertent elbow or kick
E) Ensure you are swimming on the correct side of the lane
All of the above is common sense and makes the swim more beneficial and safer for everyone

The pace is never really consistent. The 5 second gap is observed on first length then everyone bunches and catches up for next length then the pace slows over the set. Swapping the leader would sort this out, eventually making everyone that bit faster. Similar to the swap overs on a group cycle
Also point E above should reserved for Ego. If your feet are being tapped like crazy pull in at end of that length and let person pass.
Tapping overall will reduce if the leaders keep the pace up with swapping above.

Can everyone have a read please?
To add to it, please try to get to the sessions in time, 7am sharp!
And bring your your Fins, Pullbouys and Paddles to all sessions.
