    Hi all

    1. Swim TT Times
As part of the co-ordinated training plan for the season ahead, the swim coaches have asked for everyone to record their swim TT times. To facilitate this, we have set-up a Google spreadsheet for each you to record your times.

This exercise will be extremely beneficial to each you and the coaches. The objective is for our coaches to be able to plan training and bench mark the standards that we (as a team and on an individual basis) are working towards based on key criteria that they have identified. Ultimately, the objective is for our coaches to help you all reach your swimming goals.

Link to the Google Spreadsheet here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AYNBWhBBrobnVRs12_KD2vMY1tqeZ7YZtzvJ0pZ2GcU/edit#gid=0, please record your 200m and 400 TT times as soon as possible.

    2. Swim Sessions: House-keeping
With tri season getting closer, the numbers at all swim sessions have been very well attended. We are asking that everyone attends the sessions based on their level.

Monday & Sunday sessions are for improver and intermediate swimmers
Tuesday sessions are for upper intermediate and advanced swimmers
Thursday, Friday & Saturday sessions are for swimmers of all levels

Some other house-keeping items to note for swim sessions:
    – be courteous to your fellow swimmers. Let each person finish their length by moving to one side of the lane (we appreciate this isn’t always possible when lanes are full).
    – leave 5 seconds between each swimmer when pushing off the wall into a swim round.
    – warm-up on time or miss out. It’s up to you to make swim sessions on time, sessions will start 10 minutes into the scheduled hour.

If you have any questions or problems accessing the Google spreadsheet please PM me.

    Thanks
    Rachel

Thanks Rachel for all your work on the swimming programme this season. Very useful for us all to keep track of our progress.

If you want to calculate your CSS from the TT you do then a simple calculator can be found here:

    http://www.swimsmooth.com/css-calculator.html

Here is a handy google sheet to show a rough guide of what your “zones” might be for your given CSS

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akn04jSBMjNceSXQejokXAmiqcla0qwurauwz3xvFI0/edit?usp=sharing

Bare in mind that if you are doing a TT in a 25m pool and training in a 50m then your CSS will be up to 5% slower in the 50m due to the fact that you have less walls to push off.

    Happy training!
    A
