    Morning All,

The latest edition of the Coaching Newsletter from Triathlon Ireland contains a very informative and entertaining article from Training Peaks on how one’s brain deals with challenges such as open water swimming. This builds nicely on some of the Mental Skills we picked up from John Coumbe-Lilley during his time with us this Summer. Certainly, when I read it, I identified with many of the situations/emotions described – including deciding NOT to drown the person who has just tried to remove my goggles with his/her toes. The link is below. I hope you find it helpful.

See you in the pool, on the run or on the bike soon,

    Swim fearless,

    Phil

Great stuff Phill. Thanks for putting this up.I really go a laugh at reading this because it rang so many bells for me that im nearly deaf.My first open swim was this year and I hated ever stroke I took. But after a few goes I gained the attitude of’Get on with it, and learned to see the first buoy only
and leave the other buoys to themselves.

    Anyway thanks again.

    Regards
    John (Wolf)
