NATIONAL CLUB SERIES UPDATE
With the points now awarded for DCT ( but still waiting on Belfast to go up) Piranha teams are making progress and the clean sweep is still a possibility.
With so many Piranha members in with a chance of pushing into the men’s and ladies teams, this weekend in Port beach is very much about RACE FOR YOUR PLACE !

Ladies first ….
We sit in second place behind Belpark but we have closed the gap to 85pts.
Currently, the ladies team is made up of the top 6 scoring Piranhas who are

Martina 399
Antje 397
Audrey Phelan 362
Sarah Sreenan 358

Pushing for a place in the team on 3 events are Nicola H-C 313pts and Siobhan F 312pts and Brianne 217pts and Roisin Pakenham 209 both on 2 events. (some of these did Belfast but points not up yet).
With these ladies pushing their way into the team we should be able to close the gap to Belpark and overtake them but they will also have members on 2 or 3 races who might improve their points also. So if you see a Belpark lady ahead of you CHASE HER DOWN AND BEAT HER !!!

Men’s Team

We hold a very slender lead of only 6pts ahead of guess who….Belpark .
The current top six are
Killian 451
Ivan 450
Cathal 434
Mc D 430
Rob K 426
Alex 425

The competition is so tight only Killian and Ivan are safe with the other 4 places still being fought for with James H, Sean Barry, Richie, Kev Beades and Ross Candy all pushing to get into the team. By the time we get to Moby Dick (last race) I think the last 2 places will have 6 Piranha’s all within 1or 2pts of each other so it will go all the way but it makes for great banter, racing, and excitement. Belpark has a few jokers in the pack to play, as do we, but it’s going to go to the wire and be very close. We are still waiting on Belfast points to go up which could be in our favor as there were no Belparks who finished ahead of our guys that day.

MIXED TEAM

By now you might have guessed that the closest mixed team is BELPARK in fact they lead the mixed Team section by 4pts from the Piranha team which is currently

My guess is the only ones safe here are Killian, Shannon and Claire which the other 3 places still to be decided.

Can we do the clean sweep of all 3 teams again ?? ……YES, we can but it will be very close. You can be damn sure Belpark will be racing in big number this weekend as we will be. No matter where you are on the course if you see a Belpark Trisuit try to beat them. Every place lower they are the less points they get and it might come down to very small margins.
