Kona, Tales from the Big Island and Beyond will bring together a fantastic panel of Irish amateur athletes for an evening of sporting insight and entertainment. Covering topics such as training, nutrition, performance and racing strategy with an insight into the mental strength and determination it takes to make it to Kona to race with the best in the world.
The panel will include:
Bryan McCrystal coach, cyclist, triathlete and Kona finisher 2016. He took the IM World Championship race by storm this year leading the AG race on the bike for most of the event recording the 10th fastest overall bike split and finishing the race ahead of many of the professional field. An uber biker he was the fastest AG at IM Bolton & IM 70.3 Dublin this year and is currently the Irish IM record holder, he also had a superb An Post Rás during the Summer.
Ruaidhri Geraghty, Galway Triathlon Club’s first ever Kona Qualifier who is on the road to the Big Island for 2017 following his superb finish at IM Barcelona, the runner turned triathlete has also twice completed the An Post Rás
Aileen Flynn from Piranha Triathlon Club, chartered physiotherapist, multiple AG IM & IM 70.3 podium athlete who is also a Kona finisher, will round off the panel on the night.
This event will appeal to athletes of all abilities and ages interested in improving performance whilst seeking success across their 2017 season. Regardless of whether you have ever dreamed of racing at Kona or even contemplated completing an IRONMAN, this event should appeal to many athletes seeking direction, inspiration and motivation to achieve their own sporting goals whatever they may be across swim bike and run.
Tickets are €25, with a limited number of ‘Early Bird’ tickets currently available for €20
Those wishing to make a group booking of 5 or more can avail of a group rate of €18 per ticket.
