DCT 2024 – Applications for Assistant Race Director

Hi all

Piranha will host Dublin City Triathlon on Saturday 24 August 2024. DCT is one of Ireland’s largest triathlon events. Once again, the sprint race has been selected for TI’s National Series. Cathal O’Sullivan and Simon Montgomery have been appointed as co-Race Directors for this year’s race. Preparations are already underway.

The Committee are now seeking applications for the role of Assistant Race Director. The role of Assistant Race Director is a paid position and details of what is involved in the role are set out below. Please send applications to clubsecretary@piranhatri.com and chair@piranhatri.com by Friday 19 January. Your application should include details of any previous roles you have had in DCT or any other relevant experience relevant to the role. A decision will be made by the Committee shortly after this date.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Event Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the Race Director(s) in planning and executing all aspects of DCT, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for participants.
Assist in coordinating logistics, permits, and venue arrangements.

Marketing and Sponsorship:
Collaborate with the Race Director(s) to create and implement marketing strategy to attract record participation and spectators.
Collaborate with the Race Director(s) to develop sponsorship strategy and attract new sponsors.
Manage relationships with sponsors.

Course Management:
Work closely with the Race Director(s) and Course Leads to design, map, and manage race courses, ensuring they meet safety standards and participant expectations.
Oversee course setup, marking, and breakdown.

Athlete Management:
Provide excellent customer service to participants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing pre-event information.
Assist in managing registration processes and ensuring accurate participant information.

Volunteer Coordination:
Support the volunteer coordinator in training and managing volunteers for various race-day tasks.
