Based on feedback from members – it is clear that the bike boxes are coming to the end of their useful life and are no longer 100% fit for purpose.
Thus, following committee review, it was decided that we will not be replacing the existing bike boxes and with immediate effect – this member offer in its current form will be discontinued.
This decision is made on a number of factors including cost of replacement, admin overhead of the current system and better alternatives with the advent of the ShipMyTriBike option serving most races abroad that bike boxes were in demand for.
Despite the retirement – the club is potentially interested in the option of partnering with an existing bike box rental provider to gain discounted rental rates for members.
NB to progress this option – we require a volunteer to identify/contact/negotiate on behalf of the club in this regard – if interested please either PM me via site or email marketing@piranhatri.com – no volunteer – no new process.
For those Piranhas with existing bookings – we apologise for any inconvenience but would like to suggest the following options for you
1) You are welcome to use the existing bike boxes but do so at your own risk,
2) You can post on the site to see if any other members have a bike box they are willing to lend you,
3) Look at renting a bike box via some of these options I have found via google (these would be some of the places we would expect the person driving the new process to contact)
