ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS:URGENT MESSAGE:
Due to circumstances beyond our control the pool in Westwood will be closing for urgent repair and refurbishment from tomorrow Wednesday 16th July for a period of 2 – 3 months. Apologies for the short notice, however it appears Westwood took an urgent decision to close following recent assessment of the pool facility. See extract from mail below:
‘Over the course of the last week we have had a specialist company from the UK examining the structure of the pool and they have recommended immediate and urgent repair work is required. We have decided to carry out complete refurbishments of the pool area – full resurfacing of the pool basin, resurfacing the pool deck, upgrade lighting and air handling systems – to minimise further disruption down the line. With all of this taken into account the estimated completion date for all work is the 14th September. As with any project of this size and without being able to fully see the extent of the work required underwater this date may need to be extended – we truly hope this is not the case.We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause but as I said we have been left with little choice but to start this work immediately. I fully believe that the work that we will undertake will improve the facilities that we offer to you’
However – no need for panic just yet and can I call on all members to remain calm 😉 😉 ! There are several of the committee on the case today to source an alternative venue/venues for the interim period. We will keep you updated and hopefully get something set up ASAP.
Footnote: Counselling may be provided at a reduced rate if required…… 😯In the meantime…from the Committee & Team Cob…. 🙂

But it’s on the right hand side opposite a petrol station (think it’s topaz) between the shops at Vernon Ave and the Wooden Bridge.
