    All

A new opportunity has arisen that will be benefit to the club and individuals alike that we need a co-ordinator to volunteer to manage.

    What is it?
Triathlon Racing Ireland Magazine launches next month.

The magazine will focus on the sport of triathlon within Ireland, in all its aspects – individuals within the sport, clubs, club athletes, governing body, National athletes, International athletes, businesses within triathlon, events and much more.

    Issue 1 sees:
Eimear Mullan interview; Conor Murphy interview; Mark Phillips interview; John Wallnutt feature, Peninsula Tri Club feature; South Coast Tri Club feature; Wetsuit giveaway; Nutrition features; And much, much more!
64 pages full of triathlon in Ireland!

The magazine is FREE to club members! The Bi-Monthly magazine will be available – February, April, June, August, October and late November.

    Benefit to club
A free magazine every 2 months ….. cool!

    Benefit to individual volunteer co-ordinator
A chance to give back to the club (will count 2 credits towards your level 1 “general good guy/gal” TI qualification
The endless appreciation of your clubmates/committee
A chance for a newbie to meet/expose themselves to others in the club
Plus a free coffee date with our esteemed chairman where he will tell you all about his adventures in NZ (or we can give you a Get out of meeting Bernard free card … your call)

What we need the volunteer to do
    1. Post up on the site to get a rough idea of the numbers of issues we should be requesting for 1st issue (once off) – would expect to be 50 or so
    2. Accept delivery of the magazines every 2 months (can be delivered to work address) (bi-monthly)
    3. Storage of magazines until individuals collect them at a time/location of your choosing
    4. Arrange a pick up time for people to collect their magazines (prob Sat am would be best after social Sats) (A couple of times every 2 months)
    5. Receive endless hand shakes/hugs/kisses on both cheeks and general appreciative gestures when people collect their magazines (ongoing)
    6. Handover to another person if for some reason you can no longer (once off)

So PM me through the site if interested in being a good guy and I will put you in contact with the magazine guy

Thanks to Stephen Crawley for stepping up to this ….

Stephen was the bike captain last year and also is helping out coaching again … so you lot probably already know him….

For all you newbies/quieter members of our esteemed club who are clearly raging you got beaten to this plum volunteering role …. don’t you worry – I will find other opportunities for you to volunteer for ….

Joking aside – it is my personal opinion that it is always the same people who volunteer time and time again … in future, I do expect some other people to step up and spread the work around. Otherwise the number of really great things that our club regularly puts on for its member will start to be scaled back – just because we do not have the support.

    Rant over ….
