Hi all,
NOTE
These reports look back at the “BMW Triathlon National Series 2018” races (http://triathlonireland.com/Events/Race-Series-Details/2018/BMW-Triathlon-National-Series.html) where the NS points are awarded. Covering the full race calendar would be too much… For example, last weekend there were races in Armagh, West Cork (Centra Fastnet Sprint Triathlon, the focus of this report), Dublin (Skerries, with significant number of Piranhas racing) and Longford.
And next weekend there are races in 7 locations across Ireland: Mayo (NS), Antrim, Westmeath, Tipperary, Sligo, Waterford (NS and club strategic race) and Derry! With proper data feeds -and a bit of work- this could be possible in the future, but right now it’s quite manual.
INTRODUCTION
Centra Fastnet sprint triathlon, organised by Schull Tri Club, took place in a far, far away country known as West Cork. Just getting there earns you a finisher medal…Many piranhas decided to race closer to Dublin instead (Skerries), in good numbers, on Sunday, but as mentioned above is not covered here 🙁
Thanks this time to … nobody! So I’ll provide facts and comments based on the results, what I’ve between my ears, and the whispers from PTC Banter Gang WA forum…
The ubiquitous “killer” Killian Nolan keeps racing everywhere and collecting top 10 positions (this time actually a top 5, inching ever closer to podium!) much like Peter Sweeney licks 99s: with apparent ease and style. And there are always chasers not far behind, this time “llama” Cathal O’Sullivan in 9th.
In total 6 piranha members (4 male, 2 female) raced here (2 names I had to confirm!).

– Results:
The timing company did not provide the usual excel or csv file, and instead one must navigate across several pages, copy and paste. Also the club column was missing (important as I don’t know many of your names).
But TI results had the clubs column (although the splits are wrong, with the swim section missing, or shifted into the age group column in some cases). So I combined both into this sanitised spreadsheet: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OXrxJdb2mlVJYB76bs8eJKpPGXaenPa1

STATS / RESULTS
Total 286 (2 DNFs)

Other clubes: 91 “Club not found!”, 54 Cork TC, 18 Cobn TC, 18 Croshaven TC, 18 West Cork TC, 17 Kinsale TC etc.Pretty much a local affair… I’m assuming those “Club not found!” are typical unforthcoming Corkians?
Time gaps are shown between adjacent positions among Piranha members/teams (and for the first Piranha, the gap is to the fastest in the race), to stimulate competition!
